Here’s looking at you kid

Michel Curtis directed this iconic drama about an American nightclub owner Rick Blane (Humphrey Bogart) who must choose between his old flame Illa (Ingrid Bergman) and helping her husband escape.

Having been a university student for four years specialising in film, when I watched this with Grandma over a month ago it was the first time I had seen it all the way through surprisingly. It was a lovely, but slightly predictable piece of cinema and the ending with the plane has been parodied many times. One of my cousins and I remarked that we didn’t realise that so many  quotes came from the film so I guess that’s what makes it so remarkable.

My rating. 3.5/5
